Sonrise Ministries Inc. is a charitable organization as described in §501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code; EIN#: 27-0939483, registered in the state of Alabama, USA.
Any donation given in response of a solicitation presented on social media, in-person, by letter or email, to support our Ugandan grantees, are received by the US 501(c)(3). Sonrise Ministries Inc. Board of Directors maintains sole control and discretion over the use of all donated funds. All donations are non-refundable.
We classify all gifts as either restricted or unrestricted. An example of a restricted gift within Sonrise Ministries Inc., would be giving to a particular rescue home we support, to provide critical medical care for children or to support the construction of a new school building. Restricted gifts must be used for the specific purpose the donor prescribes, whereas unrestricted gifts may be used for any purpose within the mission of Sonrise Ministries Inc. Unrestricted contributions have no implicit or explicit time and are available to be used at any time and in any exempt area or operation of our ministry.
Accepted donations, or donations that meet our U.S. IRS approved purpose, are tax-deductible to the limit allowed by law..
Donors who donate more than $250 in any given year, will be mailed a statement for all their donations by the end of February of the following year. Up to 5% of donations may be deducted to support ministry Overhead/Management account where we address bank, web, transaction and accounting fees, annual tax filings, annual financial audit, printing, postage, equipment, supplies, wages, payroll taxes, state registrations/fees, other service/consulting fees, and serve to provide a small fund to support emergency needs to our grantees.
Throughout our web site, there are Donate buttons which permit online gift giving. While we capture the minimal information necessary to process your gift, we offer the option by a check box the ability to “cover fees.” We are extremely grateful when donors choose this option, it should be understood that while this action covers the associated transaction fees, it does not address 100% of all our operations costs.
