Kisakye D.
Birthdate: Oct. 2018
Kisakye has such a contagious smile. Love just pours out of her despite a very difficult beginning to her life.
At a very early age she was abandoned by her mother to her step-father who tied her to the coffee tree trunk becuase he wanted her to die. Due to her mistreatment she became crippled, lost her speech, contracted pneumonia and became severely malnourished.
Kisakye was rescued by an an elder village woman who located Kisakye's grandmother who took her in. However, the grandmother, a peasant farmer, had no ability to provide the care Kisakye required so she came to us desperate for help in saving this baby. We provided milk and portage each time she was brought to us. She was not improving so the grandmother agreed in July 2021 to let us take her in and provide consistent care.
Kisakye is making tremendous progress despite having cerebral palsy. With your help we can provide the nutrition and physical therapy she requires to regain her ability to walk and speak.
